Spoiler: what the fucking fuck Boyfriend is still in jail. He was told yesterday that ICE flagged him. When his dad was somewhere between 5-10 years old, he moved to Mexico. He grew up, married a Mexican woman, and had boyfriend. When boyfriend was 2, they moved here and just somehow...never finished his citizenship stuff. And neither did boyfriend once he turned 18. He has a valid SSN (somehow? I don't get it. He went to school, got financial aid for college, has lived in government income-based housing, etc.). Under the immigration laws, one parent has to have resided in the US for at least 5 years before the child was born for the child to claim citizenship through them, which would be fine...but 2 of those years have to be after the parent was 14 years old, but still before the child was born. So basically...unless we can find good (free) legal representation...he can be deported. And because of his charges, I think the chances are pretty good. I seriously can't. I cannot fucking do this. What the fuck am I going to do if he's deported? WHAT THE FUCK AM I GOING TO DO?
