So we've reached the truthering of death counts stage. Cool, cool
The President of the United States is a disgusting individual with a dysfunctional moral compass.
These facts, which we have known for a long time, bear underlining in light of his assertion that the official estimate of Puerto Rican hurricane dead is a whole-cloth fabrication, the result of an elaborate Democratic plot aimed at personally discrediting him. We do not repeat the exact words of the quote here so as not to help spread its destructive, fevered imaginings.
We've got investigators in Puerto Rico right now uncovering things that you're not going to believe.
Why won't they show us the death certificates?
Which makes him leaving office as scary as him being in office. At least Donald will only destroy the earth on accident. Pence actively wants it so Jesus can come back. You can deal with stupid when it's predictable. You can't deal with crazy.
About an hour from now Paul Manafort will be pleading guilty to everything he's been charged with. It seems like he might actually be cooperating given the details available so far. I figured he was probably just broke and pleading guilty without any kind of special deal, but I guess maybe not. That would be pretty good news.
Flippin like acrobats
desperate times call for desperate measures i suppose.
Kavanaugh joined a secret society at Yale nicknamed "Tit and Clit" club
“Other societies were looking for a prestigious family background, or your GPA. Each had their own personalities,” said Sherry. TNC, Sherry said, was unique: It was “organized around having sex with coeds.”
Several years before Kavanaugh was initiated into TNC, Sherry said, the people on campus called the group by an “alternate nickname”: “Tit and Clit.”
As always, the Trump administration responds to a negative story by saying the shittiest thing they can think of.
The whole thing is pretty messed up. I don't really understand why this woman sent a letter and asked to remain anonymous in the first place. She has to have known that isn't really useful in any way.
I also don't understand why Dianne Feinstein didn't say anything about this to anyone until after the hearings and then outed it, knowing that there's no way the woman would actually end up remaining anonymous.
The whole thing is just so awkward...
I don't think it really makes much difference anyway, at least not for the court itself. There's plenty more conservative judges where that came from. Politically it's a mess for Republicans though.
At least I can't say it's not interesting anymore.
Because now that her name's out there she's 100% going to get harassed and dragged through the mud.
I understand why she wanted to remain anonymous. I'm just saying that if she wanted it to stay confidential, she shouldn't have sent the letter in the first place, because it's either of no use to congress or you get outed when you didn't want to get outed, which is what happened.
Dunno, it makes sense to me. She didn't want to sit by and do nothing but she also wasn't thrilled at the prospect of getting harassed so she saw that as the best option for her. Whether it was politically the best or most helpful course of action to take may not have been something she considered.
I guess, but I'd just think that someone that's a college professor would realize that it was extremely unlikely to be of use if kept confidential and somewhat likely to not be kept confidential. Nothing wrong with it, but just seems not very bright.
In any case, I don't find that disturbing like the fact that a senator would act in a way that she knew would out the woman or the fact that the supreme court is likely about to get a little more rapey.
The hearing is going to be public.
Which is just going to be painful to watch (necessary, perhaps, but really painful. I remember the Anita Hill hearings. It was really, really awful).
Trump is pushing for it to happen...tomorrow.
ETA: on the schedule now for Monday
Can't believe how careless these fossils are dealing with this. Republicans are going to get crushed so hard in the women's vote in November. I mean, they already were, but now it's going to be even more ridiculous.
