The abridged edition:
Kinda being driven crazy by the amount of people who seem to think Oprah running for president would be a good thing
Trump just now in Nashville: "Oh are you happy you voted for me. You are so lucky I gave you that privilege"
Trump posts, then corrects, tweet praising his ‘consensual’ presidency
"President Donald Trump has the worst vocabulary of any modern president, a new analysis found.
The analysis assessed the first 30,000 words each president spoke in office, and ranked them on the Flesch-Kincaid grade level scale and more than two dozen other common tests analyzing English-language difficulty levels. Trump clocked in around mid-fourth grade........"
I don't want Oprah or any other amateur to be the President, but tbf, as unqualified as she is for the job, she's still on a completely different level than Donald Trump. She's literally better at everything. She's smarter, more educated, more successful, more connected, more credible, more respected, and a much better person in general.
That is what is so absurd about the current situation. Even if somehow the time were right to have an outsider President with no political experience, the number of people higher on the list of suitable candidates than Donald Trump should still be a mile long. He shouldn't even be on the list, unless it's hundreds of pages long, with him being somewhere between Steve Harvey and the corpse of Fred Phelps.
The next time I really want to put someone in their place, I'm going to tell them they fall somewhere between Steve Harvey and the corpse of Fred Phelps.
this is a top-notch old person facebook meme but no sane person actually wants this
The stable genius is at it again.
“Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?” Trump said, according to these people, referring to African countries and Haiti.
and just to add to our national shame
I've been working pretty much all day, and didn't turn on the news until a few minutes ago. I saw the banner on the screen and immediately said to myself (not for the first time) "Shit, what did he say now?"
I don't normally say much, but I'm known to have a pretty filthy mouth at times. But I'm nobody. I remember when I was a kid, I sometimes wondered what would happen if the president or somebody like that used this kind of language...
This man is a classless, lazy, embarrassing asshole. He needs to go. Now.
It's not really surprising to see the President say things like this, but to me, the most disturbing thing about it is the setting. He's in the middle of high stakes immigration policy negotiations with members of Congress, and doesn't even have the self control to stop himself from blurting out stupid racist stuff that will obviously hinder that process and also damage him politically. That's the guy that represents us on the world stage, crazy Grandpa that can't be left alone with company because he might start yelling at the TV about how black people are taking over sports.
I've been waiting for this to happen. Surprised it took him so long.
"President Trump acknowledged Friday that he used “tough” language during a meeting on efforts toward a bipartisan immigration deal but appeared to deny using the term “shithole” to refer to some countries."
...and, of course...
Yeah, that's the reason. Whatever helps you sleep at night, Donnie.
When you have a good president
Nothing he says surprises me. What disgusts me even more is all those Republicans in the room like Cotton who conveniently "don't recall" exactly what he said. Durbin said he used the word shithole more than once. Trumps sycophants are beyond complicit in his behavior.
