That gaping mouth thing..........quite a moment.
Security just cleared the hearing room for the FCC thing.
Must have been a threat. Dog being walked through the room.
Ridiculous. They come back, he blathers for another few minutes, vote to kill Net Neutrality and then go on to the next item on their agenda.
Of course, the fight isn't over there will be challenges but... that sucked.
“I hold it that a little rebellion, now and then, is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical. Unsuccessful rebellions, indeed, generally establish the encroachments on the rights of the people, which have produced them. An observation of this truth should render honest republican governors so mild in their punishment of rebellions, as not to discourage them too much. It is a medicine necessary for the sound health of government.”
how fucked are we b/c of this fcc bullshit
Right wing blogosphere assumes this is a massive win for deregulation. That everyone who was pro-net neutrality is a violent leftist. Yep...
I wonder what this means for 4chan or Reddit. Is this the end for places like that?
"I have a family. I call upon god. Society is getting immoral due to lack of jeezus. I am an admitted homophobe. I don't recognize the rights of people of other religions or sexualities."
Nothing about the fact that he is an immoral person or tried to have sex with a kid.
Well, I guess I'm not surprised. He doesn't wanna risk losing to the IronStache
I'm pretty sure that Ajit Pai is a for-real honest-to-FSM demon. I don't know of any other beings that can so aggressively pursue such blatant self-interest.
Well, I can think of one in particular.
Ah, but that one at least is stupid. Ajit Pai isn't stupid.
The thing is, if I were really religious (and I was a pretty religious kid - and I lost - my first t hought would be that god didn't really want me to win (as in.......the fault is me, I misread the tea leaves. I was wrong). Moore seems to think he just HAS to be right.
Hubris.............meet thy friend the 'not-judge Moore'.
I don't mean to insult anyone here but the main problem with the hyper-religious is that they are NEVER wrong. God is ALWAYS on their side and anything that may say otherwise is the work of the devil. It is impossible to reason with such people.
Yep, motivated reasoning is a thing.
^Most of America trying to survive this chaotic political onslaught from the swamp-administration.
I would like to know this too... I feel like it's going to inevitably become an abuse of power, but I'm not sure what will happen moving forward. Scary thing was also how many people I knew who didn't know about it at all. I did my part with my officials here, but many were complacent or ignorant to the vote of repeal. And of course, then there was Russia meddling again.
