currently struggling with my bench progression tho
Same, on both counts. I think there's something to do with limb ratios/body types that makes people good at deadlift vs. bench, because I'm always lagging behind on bench and ahead on deadlift compared to the standards (https://www.exrx.net/Testing/WeightLifting/StrengthStandards). Would love to add like 30-40 lbs to my bench press but I don't think I'm working hard enough or focused enough. I think it just takes more reps to improve than the deadlift and my program doesn't do enough.
That's a very good number, especially since you've cut down.
The answer, as always, is to stop being lazy. But there's almost no chance of that.
