You are no Giantfriend.
Also the four High Lords before the Ritual of Desecration follow the same tropes: Berek = Leonardo, Damelon = Michelangelo, Loric = Donatello, and Kevin = Raphael.
To be honest, I gave up about half way through the first book. The rape stuff was a bit much for me and I just began to hate the main character so much that I just couldn't continue with it. When I read books, I really need to be able to identify or at least sympathize with the main characters, but that kinda took it too far for me, especially with how everyone was forced to look the other way because of who they perceived him to be. It made me too angry.
Definitely don't read his sci-fi series then, which is also excellent.
I was going to say that didn't even need to be in the book, but I think that very reaction and their reactions is what he was going for, plus there's a daughter.
He tries to lay the groundwork with the leprosy and cure explanation, but didn't quite get enough of that laid down to pull it off.
There it makes more sense because that character is a monster.
Yeah, and I get that to him at that point, it was just a dream, so he didn't think about repercussions or anything. I tried to move on anyway, but it kept getting brought up, and it was him just having no remorse at all about what he did that finally drove me away, I think. He seemed more worried about what the others were going to do about it than anything else.
I'm sure I'll make another attempt at some point, but I think that whole situation really caught me off guard. It wasn't the tone that I was expecting from the book heading into it (I knew nothing about it previously, and haven't read anything else from that author.) I just wasn't really in the mood for it at the time, so I moved on to something else.
Lord Mhoram and Saltheart Foamfollower are the best of characters, on the other hand.
Cinnamon roll hearts
Need to form a religion around the sacrifice and consumption of living (warm), bleeding (icing) cinnamon roll hearts.
welcome back @Kerek
I could get on board with this, as long as the sacred texts make the determination that cream cheese icing be used instead of normal icing under all circumstances.
welcome back @aveline
Thank you, @ducky. Welcome back.
The religious wars your heresy (which I might secretly support) starts will tear the world apart.
It's good to be home.
Even if they're good
Finish your series.
